Articles presented in this monographic issue are intended to be an instrument to better understand a very specific group of individuals, such as people with Severe Mental Disorder (SMD), as well as to glimpse both their specific characteristics and associated psychological processes, and the evolution in its treatment, which has gone from more clinical approaches, characterized by the intake of psychotropic drugs and the recruitment in totalizing institutions to more humanizing interventions that are being complemented with active work in the community as the main means to achieve a rehabilitation process. Inclusive from a psycho and socio-educational perspective.
