the Educational Reform in the Spain of late Francoism. A critical perspective through the Journal Didascalia (1970-1975)
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present work analize the editorial line of Didascalia, a journal of education and psychopedagogy published between 1970 and 1975. This journal was founded by Felipe Segovia Olmo, and was a pioneer in Spain in training claims for education professionals. The publication born at the same time as the educational reform of 1970, and stimulated by the implementation of the Law, strove to become a resource for the professionalization and updating of teaching practice, but also, editorially, it would become the catalyst for critical voices around the successive vicissitudes in the application of the legislative text. Methodologically, the article adapts to the techniques of historical investigation and follows a documentary analysis approach, preferably focused on the study of the editorial texts of the publication, as well as in the historical and normative development of the application of the educational reform of the time. The aim is to show the controversies inherent in this moment for the course followed by the Spanish educational system throughout democracy, as well as elucidate, as far as possible, the impact today of that first great reform. It concludes with a series of reflections on this historical process, as well as with a weighted assessment of the story that Didascalia made about that moment.
