This monographic number offers different perspectives about the educational work of Felipe Segovia Olmo. Formed as mathematician, professor by vocation, but first of all Humanist. Segovia not only founded different educational centers at the forefront of the SEK Educational Institution (Institución Educativa SEK), but is known for implementing pedagogical novelties of great importance, like the Smart Classroom (Aula Inteligente). As a representative figure in the field of educational innovation and teachers' professionalization of the last third of the 20th Century in Spain, this monograph aims to offer other less well-known perspectives, but no less relevant, of his educational lifework.

Articles presented in this monographic issue are intended to be an instrument to better understand a very specific group of individuals, such as people with Severe Mental Disorder (SMD), as well as to glimpse both their specific characteristics and associated psychological processes, and the evolution in its treatment, which has gone from more clinical approaches, characterized by the intake of psychotropic drugs and the recruitment in totalizing institutions to more humanizing interventions that are being complemented with active work in the community as the main means to achieve a rehabilitation process. Inclusive from a psycho and socio-educational perspective.
