Impact analysis of Managerial Social Responsibility in competitive success of microenterprises and the role of innovation
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper analyzes empirically the impact of Managerial Social Responsibility (MSR) in the competitive success of firms that characterize the productive system of Extremadura: micro-enterprises. The analysis incorporates the innovation as a mediating variable with a partial effect but attaining significant positive results. Results also indicate that the business sector, as control variable, is not moderating the relationships. With the structural equation technique applied to a wide cross section of 710 micro-enterprises in the region, we confirm that a responsible management approach has a decisive impact on competitiveness. The policy implications are clear, regardless of company size and the sector in which the company operates, the MRS can be considered as a source of competitive advantage in the market.
