Abstract

Digital transformation processes have revolutionized the banking sector. This study seeks to identify the impact of such transformation on the volume of employment and professional profiles in the main Spanish banking entities between 2015 and 2020. To achieve it, the integrated annual reports and the LinkedIn company pages of each bank have been reviewed. Digitization has accelerated since 2018, when there was a significant increase in the volume of digital customers, the massive closure of branch offices and a drastic reduction in the workforce, and this process has modified the distribution of employees according to their training, functions and skills. These results have implications for those responsible for recruiting and selecting personnel and employees and potential candidates.
