EL FRACASO EMPRENDEDOR A TRAVÉS DE LAS INSTITUCIONES Y LA CALIDAD DEL EMPRENDIMIENTO

Resumen
El fracaso empresarial es un fenómeno al menos tan importante como el éxito empresarial. Sin embargo, académicos y profesionales han dedicado mucha más atención al análisis de este último. Este estudio se centra en el fracaso, sugiriendo que para entenderlo se necesita tener en cuenta el contexto institucional y la calidad del emprendimiento. En una muestra de 69 países durante el periodo 2007-2012 mostramos sus tasas de fracaso en función del marco institucional y la calidad de la iniciativa empresarial. Nuestros resultados ponen de manifiesto que el fracaso empresarial es menor cuando las instituciones están bien desarrolladas y cuando la calidad de la iniciativa empresarial es mayor. Y lo más interesante, las menores tasas de fracaso empresarial se encuentran cuando ambas dimensiones- instituciones y calidad- van en la misma dirección.
