The seven articles that make up the monographic issue “Female authorship in the face of the literary and educational canon” critically reflect on the marginalization that female authors have suffered within the literary system and the teaching of literature, and offer their particular contribution to combating it. The researchers and teachers who have participated come—like the authors studied—from different countries, cultures, and generations, and have taken an academic and educational interest in the contributions of women writers in different literary genres. Their approaches have been carried out from multiple methodologies and perspectives: literary, historical, feminist, sociological, philosophical, didactic, etc., which gives this issue as a whole an unquestionable richness and international, interdisciplinary, and multicultural character.
