Letter from Editor in Chief
Universia Business Review begins its eleventh consecutive year, faithfully consistent and ensuring the internationally renowned principles of quality publishing. Despite the evolution and recognition as a quality science journal, Thomson-Reuters informed that UBR will no longer be indexed at the Journal Citation Reports-Social Science Citation Index, although it is still indexed in other reference databases.
Undoubtedly, this is the time to suggest changes in the direction of the journal and return to our funding mission and objective: “transmit to those who are responsible for managing companies and businesses the most innovative ideas and developments that scientific and academic fields are capable of generating”. We should answer the following questions when writing, proposing and selecting the pieces of work to be published in the journal: What is the main message or idea of the article? Can it be applied by entrepreneurs and executives? Why do you think that entrepreneurs should read your article? Which companies would find it useful and which would not? What research has been carried out to increase your proposal? On which work (articles, theories, etc.) is your proposal based on? Executives and entrepreneurs must find answers to their reflections, concerns and problems in the scholars’ work. The Management Committee, together with the Area editors, will work along these lines to face the changes needed in this new phase.
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of the associate editors and professors who, over the last year, through their work as evaluators, have been the best formal guarantee of consistency of the journal’s pieces of work, suggesting improvements and ensuring the compliance of quality standards, although on occasions it has not been totally successful. During 2013, 252 articles have been received and the rate of acceptance of the articles evaluated was 9.95%
