Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances in the European Union, 2000 to 2007

Abstract

The establishment of mergers/acquisitions and cooperative agreements within the European Union has been increasing along the past century. Nevertheless, the new century seems to show a change in the trends. Therefore, the objective of this work is to analyse the characteristics and evolution of this growth operations in the recent years (2000-2007). The different data presented in that paper have shown growing economic integration process throught corporative strategies such as mergers, acquisitions and alliances. Spanish firms have actively taken part in this process.
