Abstract

The present research explores the (re)dignification of heritage didactics by analysing the lexical richness of two picturebooks belonging to the Tito y Pepita collection by Amalia Low, based on Colombian roots and with a latent humorous and eschatological aspect. The main objective is to examine how the multimodal resource of the picture book promotes, in the Early Childhood Education teachers at the University of Antioquia, critical awareness towards cultural, literary, social, and artistic samples native to their own tradition through the motivational use of humour. To do this, an interdisciplinary workshop on corpus analysis, heritage lexical richness, and creation of learning situations is carried out. The results show a holistic enrichment of the participants in the development of ethical, committed and sustainable awareness of their heritage and the increase of reflective and critical skills.
