Abstract

Far beyond the instrumental use of texts to teach school content, children's and young adult literature influences new generations in an ideological sense, transmitting the values, beliefs, models and normalities of the culture in which we live, as part of the process that anthropologists call enculturation. In the articles included in this issue, we present analyses of works and genres from this point of view, convinced that children's and young adult literature deserves attention and research at the highest level.
