Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the production of phraseological units (PhU) in contexts related to humor styles (Martin, Puhlik-Doris, Larsen, Gray and Wir 53-54) in stories written by adolescents. We approach PhU as figurative items and humour as intentional expression that reverses some deviation from literality (incongruence). Thus, for the study of the coordination of these two figurative spheres in participants aged 12-13 years, we took as a reference a similar research based on narratives of children aged 9-11 years (Author in press a). In this way, we will observe whether the presence of PhU and their roles in children are consolidated in the stories elaborated by adolescents or, in contrast, we witness changes associated with adolescence. Ultimately, we will trace a pattern of production of phraseologisms ascribed to the styles of humor with the results of previous studies and the findings of the present.
