This article highlights the importance of incorporating CSR and ethics education into business practices and university curricula to promote responsible and sustainable business practices. Empirical studies have demonstrated the positive impact of integrating CSR and ethics education into university curricula on students' ethical awareness, decision-making, and perceptions of CSR in business. Nigeria's ranking in international indices highlights the ongoing challenges of transparency, ethics, and CSR. However, progress has been made through government and private sector initiatives, and continued efforts are needed to address these challenges and promote sustainable development.
The article suggests that transparency and ethics are critical components of CSR and can be achieved through sustainability reporting frameworks, ethical guidelines and leadership practices, and sustainable business practices. The implications for business practice and policy of linking business ethics education to CSR are significant, and policymakers can play an essential role in promoting the development of ethical and sustainable business practices through education and incentives.
The article recommends future research to explore the effectiveness of business ethics education in promoting CSR and combating corruption in Nigeria, the role of universities in promoting business ethics education and CSR, the impact of business ethics education on corporate governance and social responsibility, and the effectiveness of government policies and regulations in promoting CSR and combating corruption. The article emphasises the importance of embracing business ethics education to contribute to a more responsible and sustainable future for Nigeria.
