Abstract

This article shows the need to structure a radical change in initial and ongoing teacher training. Its main objective is the proposal to systematize educational innovation as a transversal axis of teacher training, so that this principle is present in both initial and in-service training.

A critical view of the current teacher training is proposed and the need for a paradigm shift is assessed, for which some guidelines are proposed on which to build a new collaborative model of both educational institutions: University and schools. In order to achieve this objective, there must be a systematized approach of both institutions, university and school, so as to break the usual separation between both worlds, and promote their rapprochement, having as common objectives in their new identity the training, innovation, research and professional development of teachers.

Problem solving, collaborative work and the fight against individuality must be taken into account for the necessary transformation and integration of educational institutions, as well as the establishment of a path of structured, academic and professional permanent dialogue between universities and schools, where realities are shared, susceptible of being maintained or changed, through the establishment of specific mechanisms and innovative designs, some of which are presented as examples in this article.
