A project based-learnig experience: developing augmented reality for hospitalized children with long term diseases in collaboration with EntamAR project
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper describes the project based-learning experience developed in Camilo José Cela University (UCJC) in the EntamAR Project developed by the Social Technologies Foundation (TECSOS) with the Youth Red Cross. The EntamAR project is part of the Hospitalized Children Support Project, developed by volunteers of the Red Cross Youth. In support of this project, a mobile application has been developed that allows addressing some needs of hospitalized children using the possibilities of augmented reality. This article describes the project, its objectives and impact, focusing on the phase of design and creation of 3D objects and characters of augmented reality by students of the Degree in Digital Arts of the UCJC. This design has been carried out within a collaboration agreement between the three entities and through a teaching innovation project of the university degree itself that has included field work with end users, technical object modelling work and provides for prototype testing designed in the real context.
