Abstract

The intertextuality, influence and intimate correlation between William Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying (1930) and Camilo Jose Cela’s Pabellón de reposo (1943), previously noted and observed by a variety of scholars and critics, presents both linguistic, formal and ideological divergences and similitudes, which are extensively analyzed and developed in the present article, and which in both cases conclusively demonstrate that the dialogue between both texts was dynamic, intense and deeply prolific.
